MONTEVIDEO – The Migration Museum in Uruguay’s capital was the venue on Tuesday for an event showcasing Vietnamese cuisine and culture to celebrate Vietnam Day.
The exhibit coincided with the visit to Montevideo of Vietnam’s deputy minister of Industry and Commerce, Do Thang Hai, who stopped by the museum.
Vietnamese diplomat Hieu Tran Quang told EFE that the event also marked 25 years of diplomatic relations between his country and Uruguay.
Visitors to the exhibit had the chance to see and purchase Vietnamese art, crafts and other products of the Southeast Asian nation, he said.
The food, provided by chef Duong Dang Hong, was one of the main attractions of the event.
With the help of a translator, the Vietnamese chef also gave a demonstration of how to make some of the dishes.
