GUATEMALA CITY – A large fire destroyed several stalls in Guatemala City’s La Terminal market, injuring one person, emergency services officials said.
Firefighters and workers struggled for hours to put out the fire using buckets filled with water, eventually managing to extinguish the blaze.
One person was transported to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire, which started in an onion stall on Monday, caused extensive losses for vendors.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined, officials said.
