LIMA – The head-on collision of a bus full of passengers with a truck on Friday left 10 people dead and around 50 injured in western Peru, officials told Efe.
The crash occurred at 4:00 a.m local time (0900 GMT) in Barranca province, part of the Lima region, after which both vehicles burst into flames.
Up to now police have found the remains of 10 people killed in the accident, while some 50 injured have been taken to various hospitals in Barranca, officials said.
The bus was headed for the Peruvian capital at the same time the truck loaded with containers was on its way from Lima to the northern city of Chimbote when the crash occurred. EFE
