MADRID Ė Spanish natural gas transportation company Enagas said on Tuesday it increased its stake in Transportadora de Gas del Peru, or TgP, which owns a pipeline in the Andean nation, from 20 percent to 24.35 percent.
The $97 million deal was executed via the purchase of a 3.94 percent in the pipeline from SK Innovation and a 0.40 percent interest from Corporacion Financiera de Inversiones, or CFI.
The acquisition makes Enagas the second-largest shareholder in TgP and solidifies its position in Peru, where it has a 30 percent stake in CompaŮia Operadora de Gas del Amazonas, or Coga.
Enagas and Brazilís Odebrecht won the $7.32 billion contract for Gasoducto Sur Peruano, or GSP.
Construction of the GSP, a gas pipeline, started on May 21.
Enagas also has operations in Mexico and Chile.
