LIMA Ė The supply of natural gas from Peruís highlands to the countryís Pacific coast was restored Wednesday after a damaged pipeline was repaired, operator Transportadora de Gas said in a statement.
The multi-use pipeline returned to full service after six days of work to seal a rupture in Anco, in the southeastern region of Ayacucho.
Last Thursday, the Control and Monitoring System detected a drop in the pressure and automatically activity safety valves to shut off the flow.
Technical factors and favorable weather allowed crews to complete the repair earlier than initially expected, Transportadora de Gas said.
The conduit carries gas from the massive Camisea field in the southern region of Cuzco to urban and industrial centers on Peruís central Pacific coast.
