SANTIAGO – Agencia EFE, Spain’s international news agency, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of its bureau in Chile with a photo exhibit highlighting the country’s recent history.
The exhibit, set to run through June 30, will be inaugurated by government Secretary-General Marcelo Diaz on Thursday in a ceremony at the La Moneda Palace Cultural Center.
Coinciding with this week’s World Press Freedom Day, the exposition comprises 50 EFE photographs documenting milestones in Chile’s history over the past five decades.
Through a careful selection of images, the EFE exhibit reflects the identity of Chile, its people and the extraordinary beauty of its natural heritage.
Founded in 1939, EFE is the world’s largest Spanish-language news agency and the fourth-biggest overall. With more than 3,000 professionals working in 120 countries, EFE generates nearly 3 million items per years of text, photo, audio, video and multimedia.
