BUENOS AIRES – The dead bodies of a man and a woman, both Argentine nationals, were found aboard a yacht moored on a river in Tigre, a town in eastern Argentina, and there were no signs of violence, coast guard spokesmen told EFE on Monday.
The couple, between 50 and 58, arrived Saturday in the Tigre delta, an area popular with tourists, and moored their vessel on Arroyo Pajarito in the San Fernando district, investigators said.
“They went there with the intention of staying until Sunday and were last seen by some witnesses on Saturday evening,” San Fernando Mayor Jorge Gonzalez said.
Acting on a tip, coast guard personnel boarded the yacht and found the two bodies.
Crime scene investigators did not find any signs of foul play.
Autopsies will be conducted Monday to determine the cause of death.
