MIAMI Hurricane Jose, a Category 1 storm, continued churning in the southwestern Atlantic on Wednesday between the Bahamas and Bermuda, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
Jose, which has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph (75 mph), is moving southeast at 13 kph (8 mph), the NHC said in a public advisory released at 0900 GMT.
The hurricane is expected to make a slow clockwise loop during the next 36 to 48 hours, moving west-northwestward by late Thursday, the NHC said.
Jose is about 810 kilometers (505 miles) east-northeast of the southeastern Bahamas and 700 kilometers (435 miles) from Bermuda.
The hurricane does not currently pose a threat to land and forecasters expect few changes in its intensity.
