SANTO DOMINGO – A National Police corporal killed his ex-girlfriend and two other women, and shot a 2-year-old boy in Nagua, a city in the northeastern Dominican Republic, officials said Thursday.
Cpl. Ronny Fermin Garcia used his service weapon to commit the triple-murder, National Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar said.
The murders were committed on Wednesday night, Baez Aybar said.
The victims were identified as Alexandra Ruiz, the officer’s 17-year-old ex-girlfriend; Carmen Andujar, 53; and Juana Andujar, no age given.
The wounded boy, identified as Danny Valdez Andujar, was taken to the hospital in the northeastern city of San Francisco de Macoris.
Initial indications are that the 32-year-old officer may have killed his ex-girlfriend because she was in a relationship with another man, Baez Aybar said.
