SAN JUAN – A delegation of 24 Barbadian manufacturing and services companies is set to arrive in Guyana on Jan. 28 to take part in bilateral trade and business meetings, the Caribbean Community said Friday in a statement.
CARICOM said the mission is organized by the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation and will be led by Industry Minister Donville Inniss.
The government of Guyana said the two countries have a “longstanding relationship” that includes mutual collaboration in areas like trade, tourism and culture.
Barbadian exports to Guyana reached $24.2 million in 2014 and were projected to tally $25 million at the end of 2015.
Guyana’s exports to Barbados averaged $15.7 million annually between 2005 and 2014, the Guyanese government said.
