SAN JUAN – Grand Bahama will host an investment and trade mission from Hubei, China, the Bahamian government said Tuesday in a statement.
Chinese investors and executives and Bahamian business owners are scheduled to meet at a conference in Freeport from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, led by Hubei provincial officials.
“I am pleased Grand Bahama Island was selected as the destination for Match-Making Sessions between China Council for Promotion of International Trade, from the Hubei Province, and business persons throughout The Bahamas,” the minister for Grand Bahama, Michael Darville, said.
Darville added that Hubei and the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce will sign a memorandum of understanding on promoting economic, trade and technical cooperation.
The conference is supported by the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, Grand Bahama Port Authority and the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas, among other institutions.
