E3 Expo Unveils “The Last of Us Part II,” “Spider-Man” for PS4 (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES – Sony closed the press conferences before the E3 Expo in Los Angeles on Monday with the presentation of its latest offerings for the PlayStation 4 console.

Just a day before the Los Angeles Convention Center opens its doors for E3, the biggest video game event of the year, Sony showed the upcoming attractions from its PlayStation 4 catalog at the conference that followed a different format than usual.

E3 runs from June 12-14, but some major game producers like Microsoft or Sony offered the public glimpses into their new products ahead of the official beginning of the event.

The hundreds attending the exhibition were welcomed into a long church tent with an altar at one end, following which a long clip from the “The Last of Us Part II” game was played, featuring an area identical to the one set up for the guests.

The sequel to “The Last of Us” (2013), showed its potential for becoming a hit with a warm and tender scene showing the protagonist Ellie kissing another woman.

But this touching scene soon gave way to a violent sequence, in which PlayStation fans could see Ellie facing various enemies.

After “The Last of Us Part II,” with its stylized tent, the guests were led into a more conventional tent with seats and a large screen for the rest of the presentation, the highlight of which was a look at the new “Marvel’s Spider-Man” which will be released on Sept. 7.

Full of fast-paced action and witty humor from the superhero, the reveal showed him battling through a prison filled with foes, including Vulture and Scorpio.

Another memorable moment of the evening was the clip of “Ghost of Tsushima,” a story about a samurai in Japan, and of the “Resident Evil 2” remake, which will be available from Jan. 25.
