Microsoft Impresses Gamers at E3 Expo

LOS ANGELES – US tech giant Microsoft impressed on Sunday fans of its video game console Xbox at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles by unveiling such eagerly awaited news and developments as “Halo Infinite,” “Forza Horizon 4,” and “Gears of War 5” at its official conference.

E3, the world’s most important event in the video game industry, will be held from June 12-14 in Los Angeles, but some major game producers like Microsoft or Sony have a chance to give the public a little glimpse into their new products ahead of the official beginning of the event.

Although the Microsoft press conference was held mainly to reveal trailers and updates of its new videogames, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, hinted that they are already working on the consoles that will come after Xbox One X, which was launched last year, as well as a streaming gaming service.

Car racing enthusiasts had their prize with the confirmation of “Forza Horizon 4,” which will go on sale on Oct. 2 for PC and Xbox One and whose frenetic competitions are taking place this time in Great Britain.

Ralph Fulton, creative director of the developer Playground Games, stressed that the background scenery in “Forza Horizon 4” will vary according to the seasons: a lake that is inaccessible in summer can be crossed in winter because it is icy.

Microsoft also took this occasion to announce that The Initiative, Playground Games, Ninja Theory, Undead Labs and Compulsion Games studios will join the company’s game production wing, Microsoft Studios.
