LONDON – Princess Charlotte, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will be baptized on July 5 in St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk in eastern England, Kensington Palace announced on Friday.
The girl, born May 2, will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, senior Primate of the Church of England.
Kensington Palace, official residence of Prince William and his wife, Catherine, gave no further details of baptism nor revealed the names of the Charlotte’s godparents.
Princess Charlotte is fourth in the line of succession to the British throne after her brother, Prince George; her father, Prince William, and her grandfather, Prince Charles.
The girl is the fifth great-granddaughter of the 89-year-old Queen Elizabeth II.
