WASHINGTON – Former tennis star Anna Kournikova and singer Enrique Iglesias became the parents of twins on the weekend, the TMZ celebrity Web site reported on Monday.
The couple welcomed Lucy and Nicholas into the world on Saturday in Miami, TMZ said, citing sources in that city.
After the birth, which came after a pregnancy that apparently had been kept completely out of the public eye, Kournikova posted a photo of herself and Iglesias, although it had been taken in 2016.
The 36-year-old Russian former tennis star and model and the Spanish singer, 42, began dating in 2001 and have been a notoriously private couple, as TMZ reported, adding that although both wear rings, their possible marriage has never been confirmed.
Kournikova, born in Moscow, retired from the tennis circuit in 2003 after winning two Grand Slam doubles tourneys.
Meanwhile, Iglesias remains actively engaged in his performing career and this year he was awarded the Artist of the Year prize at the 3rd edition of the Latin American Music Awards.
