Nuggets Defeat Mavericks 114-104

DALLAS – Nikola Jokic scored a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds on Friday to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 114-104 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

The Nuggets (40-18) recorded their third consecutive win and are placed second in the Western Conference rankings.

Paul Millsap added another double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Nuggets, while Isaiah Thomas scored 16 points in 16 minutes of play in his second game after his comeback from surgery on his right thigh.

Juan Hernangomez went without a single point in the 10 minutes of game as reserve and made one assist.

The Mavericks have lost three games consecutively without star player Luka Doncic, who was out because of pain in his right ankle.

The Mavericks have a very slight chance of being in the playoffs at the end of the regular season.

Jalen Brunson, who was playing in place of Doncic, scored 22 points while leading the Mavericks’ attack and emerged as a promising player for the team.

Dwight Powell scored 20 points while Dorian Finney-Smith totaled 13 points for the Mavericks.
