Porter Scores Career-High 37 Points to Help Bulls Beat Grizzlies 122-110

CHICAGO Otto Porter Jr. had on Wednesday a double-double of 37 points the highest in his career and 10 rebounds to help the Chicago Bulls beat the Memphis Grizzlies 122-110.

Porter was acquired by the Bulls on Feb. 6 just a day before the trade deadline from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Jabari Parker, Bobby Portis and a protected 2023 second-round draft pick.

He seems to be settling well into his new scoring role with the Chicago offense.

Its totally different. I mean Im just getting here, so Im still figuring it out, Porter said after the match.

Bulls coach Jim Boylen said in the postgame interview that Otto had a big night. He let it come to him, he took good shots, had a nice rhythm, got the ball in his hands. His versatility, I thought, really showed.

The Bulls (14-44), second-last in the Central Division standings and 13th in the Eastern Conference, broke an 11-game losing streak at home the longest in franchise history to register their third win in the last 10 games.

The last time they won at the United Center arena was on Dec. 11, when they beat the Orlando Magic.

Robin Lopez added a season-high 25 points for Chicago while Lauri Markkanen had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Brazilian reserve Cristiano Felicio scored eight points in 14 minutes of play, converting two of four field throws and four of seven free-throw attempts, as well as catching three rebounds.

The Grizzlies (23-36), who suffered their second straight loss, continue to languish in last place in the Southwest Division standings. The team is sitting 14th in the Western Conference.

I think we were tired. There was no doubt in my mind. (...) Tonight, we just couldnt find a spark, Grizzlies coach JB Bickerstaff said after the match.

For the visitors, Avery Bradley scored 15 points, while Jaren Jackson, Mike Conley and reserves CJ Miles, Jonas Valanciunas and Delon Wright scored 12 points each.
