Other first-team players also missed Saturday’s session as they still continue their respective recovery programs, including; Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente, Gareth Bale, Thibaut Courtois and Mariano, “whilst Vinicius Jr. missed out on training through flu,” according to the club.
“We do not know whether Vinicius could travel (to Betis), we have to wait a little more before announcing the match list,” head coach Santiago Solari told journalists on Saturday.
Solari also paid tribute to Vinicius’ recent performance with the first team saying: “the positive symptom is that an 18-year-old boy, so young, has arrived and is doing so well.”
Real Madrid currently holds the fifth spot in the Spanish top league’s standings with 30 points, 10 points behind leader and defending champion Barcelona, and with a four-point advantage ahead of sixth-placed Betis.
Madrid has conceded its sixth defeat in the La Liga season against Real Sociedad on Jan. 6.
