SEVILLE, Spain – Atletico Madrid continued on Sunday to put pressure on La Liga leader Barcelona with a 1-0 away win over Real Betis in the 15th round of the Spanish league.

Saul Ñiguez scored the winner for Atletico 29 minutes into the match to secure the team’s third straight win.

With the win, Atletico is in 3rd place, with 33 points, two points ahead of La Liga defending champion Real Madrid.

Real Madrid, which is in 4th place, pummeled fifth-place Sevilla 5-0 on Saturday.

Also on Sunday, Malaga got a 2-0 away win over Real Sociedad.

Unbeaten Barcelona, which is set to visit Villarreal later on Sunday, leads La Liga with 36 points, two points ahead of second-place Valencia.
