FRANKFURT, Germany – Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 on Saturday in the 15th round of the German league.
Arturo Vidal scored the lone goal of the contest at the 20-minute mark to secure a 1-0 away win for his side at Commerzbank-Arena.
With the victory, Bayern now has 35 points and stretched its lead to eight points over second-placed Leipzig, which stumbled to a 2-2 home draw Saturday against Mainz 05 in the same round.
Struggling Borussia Dortmund lost 2-1 to Werder Bremen at home for its fifth defeat of the season; it is currently in the seventh position with 22 points but could fall further depending on other results this weekend, while Bremen is provisionally in 16th place with 14 points.
Also Saturday, Wolfsburg snatched one point with a scoreless away draw against Hamburger.
