ATLANTA – Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroeder scored 26 points to lead his team to a 116-104 victory against the New York Knicks Friday night at the Philips Arena in Atlanta.
The Hawks (4-15), who ended a three-game losing streak by notching only their third win in the last 10 games, stay at the bottom of the Southeast Division, four games back from the Orlando Magic.
Dewayne Dedmon added 16 points and Marco Belinelli 15 points for the Hawks.
The Knicks, second from last in the Atlantic Division, were unable to secure their third consecutive win despite a brilliant performance by Kristaps Porzingis, who was the game’s top scorer with 28 points.
The Knicks had led for most of the first half, but were pegged back and later overtaken by a Shroeder-led Atlanta surge late in the third quarter and early in the fourth.
Courtney Lee added 26 points and Tim Hardaway had 22, while Willy Hernangomez scored 22 points in 19 minutes of play for New York.
