LIMA Ė The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee began meetings on Monday prior to the 131st IOC Session, where some important decisions for the Olympic movement are expected to be taken.

The IOCís president, Thomas Bach, inaugurated the meetings along with Peruvian Olympic Committee President Pedro Del Rosario, and Ivan Dibos, Peruís representative on the international committee.

ďIt is an honor for Peru to host this meeting, where important decisions for the Olympic movement are to be taken,Ē Del Rosario said.

In turn, Bach asked the meeting attendees to be ready and submit good proposals during the gathering that precedes the IOC Session, due to start on Wednesday and run through Saturday.

During the meetings of the executive board, its members are expected to analyze reports on the current situation of the IOC, local Olympic committees and their athletes, as well as good governance, the Olympic movementís ethics and the IOCís 2020 Agenda.

The board will also discuss the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, to be held in Buenos Aires; the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea; the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo; the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland.
