SEVILLE, Spain – Sevilla beat Eibar 3-0 on Saturday to take provisional possession of first place in La Liga, with seven points from three matches.
After a scoreless first half at Seville’s Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, Paulo Henrique scored for the hosts just two minutes after the re-start.
Wissam Ben Yedder made it 2-0 in the 76th minute and Nolito sealed the victory with a third goal in stoppage time.
Sevilla’s grip on the top spot looked likely to be short-lived, as third-place Barcelona – with six points – was leading Espanyol 2-0 at half-time.
With three points, Eibar are in 13th place.
