 BOGOTA – State-controlled oil company Ecopetrol said on Monday that oil was discovered at the Coyote-1 well in northeastern Colombia, a project in which Canada’s Parex Resources Inc. has an interest. The petroleum was found in San Vicente de Chucuri, a city in Santander province, Ecopetrol said in a statement. Oil was found at a depth of between 2,042 meters and 2,177 meters (6,695 feet and 7,137 feet) at Coyote-1, which is in the mid Magdalena Valley region, Ecopetrol said. |
