LIMA – Eight people were killed when their vehicle collided head-on with a bus in southern Peru, authorities told Efe on Friday.
The accident took place Thursday afternoon near the town of La Joya in the Arequipa region.
None of the 32 people aboard the bus was injured, while all the occupants of the other vehicle perished in the crash, police said.
The bus was headed south toward the Tacna region, bordering Chile, when it collided with the private vehicle traveling in the direction of Arequipa city.
Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. EFE
