LA PAZ – An exhibition in Bolivia is offering a close look back on the COVID-19 pandemic so far through the medium of contemporary art.
The exhibit, “Mutaciones y Afecciones #Cuerpos Pandemicos,” is hosted at the Spanish Cultural Center in La Paz and showcases eight Bolivian artists who offer a creative look at themes like public restrictions, the role of media and yearning for nature during the pandemic.
The curator, Juan Fabbri, told EFE: “This exhibition looks to debate a moment that has not yet passed.”
Bolivia is currently experiencing its second wave of COVID-19. Health authorities are reporting 2,000 new cases and around 50 deaths per day on average. Hospitals are straining under the scale of the outbreak.
