MADRID – Brazil defender Marcelo returned to training for Real Madrid on Wednesday training session with the group as the club monitors his recovery from an injury.
Ferland Mendy, another of the side’s injured players, has also seemed to make progress in his recovery as he returned to work alone with the ball.
Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could not count on either of thew two in the side’s last match against Granada, so he had to adapt Dani Carvajal to the position.
Marcelo was diagnosed with a strain to the biceps femoris in his right leg that followed a post-traumatic cervicodorsal injury he had suffered earlier.
The French coach might get his defense problems solved before the Clasico against Barcelona scheduled for 26 October at Camp Nou stadium.
Meanwhile, Nacho, Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio continued with their recovery.
The second session of the week was held with the absence of 12 players, who were called up by their national teams.
Wednesday’s training included some Real Madrid Castilla players.
