LONDON – New photographs of the UK’s Prince George posing in an England soccer shirt that were snapped by his mother, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, have been released by Kensington Palace to mark the young royal’s sixth birthday.
In two of the images, George, third in line to the throne, can be seen playing in the gardens of the royal household wearing the England national side’s white shirt.
Another shot shows the prince on a family holiday in a green polo shirt and blue and white striped shorts.
Prince George of Cambridge was born on July 22, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London.
He made his first public appearance outside the hospital the following day, cradled in the arms of his parents, Prince William and Catherine.
As one of Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandchildren, he is third in line to the throne behind her son Charles, Prince of Wales, and her grandson and his father, William.
According to the UK media, George is a fan of tennis and recently met his favorite player, Roger Federer, at his parent’s house in Berkshire, southern England.
Following the encounter, the Swiss tennis star described George as “cute” and praised his tennis skills.
The youngster has just completed his first year at Thomas’s Battersea school, where he will return in September for his second and final year before going onto secondary school.
